I was 18 when I first made the connection between my volatile mood swings and the intensely salty and sugary foods I was eating and craving. During massage school, my long battle with indigestion ended when I learned about food combining. Throughout my pregnancies, I experienced how fats affected my blood sugar and how important B12 was to my iron absorption. Years later, I realized how dairy was affecting my skin. In my early 30s I came around to leafy greens, and felt much steadier with them on board. I still suffered from unpredictable heart palpitations, until I reduced my caffeine intake. And I was almost 40 when I finally connected my joint pain to alcohol consumption.
All this time, I had been reading and researching like a fiend. What are we supposed to eat? Where do our physical problems come from? What does real health look and feel like? How does food affect our brains? These questions kept a steady stack of books by my bedside. In 2018, I enrolled in a nutrition education program through Bauman College, which I completed with honors in 2020. Finally, I was able to answer the grittier questions that seemed impossible to nail down via casual research.
As a Nutrition Consultant, I am so happy to be able to share with you the knowledge that I've been accumulating throughout my life.
